The Frequently Asked Questions
The Questions That Keep Being Asked
“The FAQ is sacred because the questions were asked in earnest.”
These questions have been asked by actual people, or people very much like actual people, and the answers represent the Church's best current thinking. The Church reserves the right to change its mind.
Is this a real religion?
The Church does not find this question answerable in a single direction. The doctrines are genuine. The theology is internally consistent. The community is real.
Whether "real religion" means "legally recognised," "sincerely held," or "functionally useful" changes the answer. The Church recommends specifying which question you meant to ask.
Was I already a member before finding this?
Yes. See Book Ten.
Do I need to believe everything in the Compendium?
No. The Church holds that selective belief is both inevitable and acceptable. The Dichotomy accommodates partial agreement. This is, in fact, a core feature.
What is the correct pronunciation of "Dividius"?
The Church has three official positions on this, all of which are correct.
